I don’t think it has so much to do with praise but that middle white America are rarely if at all exposed to black that don’t fit into their stereotype. Michelle is like Susan next door, Barak is like Bob at church and they’re not only amazed but enamored with the fact that gasp us black folk don’t always get arrested or shake our asses in a video.

Thank you! This post captures my frustrations with some Obama supporters. Quite a few of them think the battle is over. Hello?

This man does not want universal healthcare, does not want to prosecute those who authorized torture, does not want to stand up for gay/lesbian soldiers, nor does he want to end fruitless attacks on Afghanistan. Basically, President Obama is not the same man he was on the campaign trail.

People, it's not enough to talk about change.

i totally agree that barack obama should be scrutinized and i have been one of his staunchest supporters. but that’s what you do to politicians, *channels whiney tavis* hold them accountable! it bothers me when people fawn over him. let’s talk about the reduced funds hbcus stand to see under his education budget. or the pigford farmers getting stiffed. he’s not above reproach.

on the other hand, as her #1 stan, i don’t really tolerate people speaking ill of michelle. but isn’t it funny that i wasn’t remotely offended by what iman said? beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and she is entitled to her opinion! it wasn’t like she was disrespectful.

I have to say that this is the most intelligent response that I could find on the net to this issue. People are beginning to worship Barack and Michelle, and that’s a scary thought. They didn’t turn water into wine, or heal the sick, or raise the dead. Jesus did. And he’s the ONLY one that we should hold in such regard. But they are a beautiful family, and he IS a politician. We should be viewing him in the same critical eye that we did Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Reagan, and praying that his promises hold true.

Well said. Couldn't have been more accurate.

I remember telling my cousins at Thanksgiving dinner that hardcore Barack Obama supports would place his picture right next to Jesus on the wall.

I voted for the Obama in Nov, but I'm not about to go all Monica Lewinsky on him. So unnecessary.

I see it this way, the easy parts over, we got him into to office, the hard part is keeping that man at the task at hand.

Making sure those political promises are met and kept.

People just need to stop with all that Obama worshiping and let him be the politician we voted him in to be.
