Taj, yeah, I personally just don’t find discussions about old white men saying politically incorrect things like most old people do to be all that productive in any discussion. I said these are distractions from having real discussions about race, as in the speech delivered by President Obama back during the campaign.

Debating the use of the word Negro and agonizing over stupid phrasing from politicians are equally pointless to me. I stand by that.

Know what? I think taking a moment to talk about race isn’t as bad as you think it is. Especially considering in a few decades, minorities will be the majority, in which the American racial make up will shift completely. This means the majority should be represented honestly in the media more to begin with , and depicted more honestly. Its hard to do that with conventional beliefs still looming around. America is horribly racist in comparison to other first world countries. We still cling to primitive beliefs and discriminate in the closet. Its a problem that needs to be addressed in intellectual discussions, to change the racial attitude in this country. Nobody’s doing shit about the economy, global warming, the “war on terror”, or healthcare any time soon. Obama is dragging his fucking feet on policy. I think a few poignant talks and research need to be initiated in order to change these attitudes. Mind as well, why we fucking wait for shit to get done.
