True. Alecia Beth did say that she would “play the assh*le role in this industry,” but it’s definitely not a gimmick, especially judging by the number of interviews I’ve seen of hers over the years, she’s been very consistent in being cynical about everyone and everything that relates to entertainment (even before becoming famous), and possibly getting worse. She for the most part appears to be normal. I wouldn’t be surprised that she’s still a brat to some degree, but I don’t find her to be fake or “gimmicky” about anything.

2. P!nk is just the f*cking best. Funny how people think that just because she’s not manufactured, contrived, or even politically correct most of the time, something’s wrong with her. I have her funhouse tour DVD and that is the performance she gave. It’s good, it’s okay. It wasn’t all that because I’ve seen it a million times, but hey, alot of people recycle tour performances. She’s not the first or the last. I really wanted her to win. As far as it being a contest between Beyonce (and her yaki), there is none. What’s real about someone always talking about other artists being gimmicky when she’s no less gimmicky? Posturing yourself as antithetical to your typical pop gimmick can be just as contrived as the gimmick itself — as evidenced by a woman nearly nude spinning around doing acrobats during the performance of a song. A gimmick is a gimmick is a gimmick.
