I am so proud of Monique. Hairy legs and all. She doesn’t play Hollywood politics at all. So proud of her. Lee too.

My problem isn’t just the lack of black with VF it’s the lack of color in general. The entire spread is very Jim Crowe esque. Not even Freida Pinto or Oscar nominee Gabby? Disgusting.

People really need to lay off Taylor. The girl did her thing. Wrote all her songs and outsold every other artist. If Beyonce can win 6 awards and break Lauryn’s record with horrible music and beat out superior artists in the r&b categories, then Ms. Swift can walk away with the biggest award of the night. Kanye played himself, Taylor is a force in this industry.

Even though I was a bit bothered by the Vanity Fair cover, I’m trying to think of young black actresses besides Gabby Sidibe (sp) and chicks in Tyler Perry movies that are on the brink of taking Hollywood by storm. Maybe the omission sheds light on the non-existence of prominent and diverse movie roles for black actresses..
