I believe Sandra won the Razzie for All About Steve in theaters just months before where she played the nerdy stalker of that fine ass white boy Bradley Cooper. Horrible movie!

i cant watch an entire episode of monique’s show, but i dig her. She dont have to kiss hollywood ass, shes a grown ass woman. And that 3-6 mafia performance is exactly the reason why taraji’s ass didnt win last year lol

I agree alot of people lost the “Bigger Picture”. There were alot of glass ceilings broken or cracked last nite.
Personally I feel like the web is like being a fly on the wall in the retirement home on the Simpsons.
They don’t know how to do nothing else but bitch and complain. It’s thier hobby, andf pleasure.

I really can’t make heads or tails of Mo’s attitude. But Im sure white folks were peeved that a fat, black, woman had the “audacity” to not be all smiles , gracious, and doe eyed.
So she’s not the most likeable of people, since when has that mattered to the Academy?
Sean Penn has been virtually flipping them the bird for bout 20 years and every year or so they come back to him with a nom , like a battered spouse with low self-esteem to thier abusor.

On another note how is it possibe for Sandra Bullock to get an Oscar and a Razzie?
It makes me wanna see the movie just to judge for myself

Nice. Last night was an amazing night for monorities in Hollywood. A lot of glass ceilings were broken. I admire Monique’s strength and her determination to play by her own rules. That takes a lot of balls.

Monique’s character, Mary Jones, was rich and layered. Much like Charlize in Monster or Halle in Monster’s Ball. I’m really tired of black people complaining like every depiction of black people has to be some “this is the black community, white people” type of representation. We are not a monolith and our stories are just as complex, layered, rich and dynamic as everyone elses. And all of these stories should be told.

I also adore Gabby. Her life is already a movie. From being a broke college student to having Oprah as your “play” mama and Streep as your peer. Dream big people and never give up!

I don’t get the politics…or her not promoting the film or promoting the film prior to or WHATEVER. I just…don’t even want to try and wrap my head around it. But I did notice (and correct me if I’m wrong) did she fail to call Lee Daniels’ name in her acceptance? I know she said something to the effect of the crew of Precious or something like that…did she throw shade? Was it justified? I just don’t…I mean, enlighten me? LOL Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

I’ve yet to watch Precious (read the book and just ain’t ready to cry again). I’ll get to it soon…maybe this Fall. Gotta get prayed up for all that heartache and triumph.
