Love & Hip-Hop New York
Season 4, Episode 2

Horrible behavior was the theme of last night’s edition of Love & Hip Hop, complete with trifling men, terrible liars, temperamental women and tears. Most of those labels apply to the show’s stars Peter Gunz and Amina, but we met some new people who also fit the bill. —Michael Arceneaux (@youngsinick)

I Told You Not To Tell Nobody

Amina spoke for promoted side chicks everywhere when she told Peter Gunz, “I’m tired of being treated like I’m nothing.” Fed up with being Peter’s little secret and mad at the idea of that’s how they should keep it, Amina told Rich Dollaz that the two are married. Peter didn’t like that, telling her, “I told you not to tell nobody.” You would think that someone of his age and experience in the music industry would know by now that side chicks rarely remain completely silent – particularly if you give them a promotion. Second tier lovers want to be in first place and there’s no turning back when they feel like you put them there. That said, Amina seems to have misplaced her self-awareness (and/or self-esteem) somewhere ‘cause from the outside looking in, any fool can see that if he’s not telling people that he’s married and maintains airs that he’s with another woman, your marriage is pretty much doomed.

I mean, in this same episode he’s giving Tara roses and talking about her trust issues. I could barely type that sentence without rolling my eyes like the way Beyoncé rolls her body and howling like the heftiest man on Earth. He’s already cheated on Tara before and he’s cheating on her now…with his wife, who initially was his sidepiece. He tells her, “Promise me you’ll never leave me, no matter what.” And in his next scene he tells Amina, “If you want to be treated like my wife, you gotta act like my wife.” What is this dude’s life about? If all of this doesn’t sound ridiculous enough, Tara and Peter Gunz are outside performing a song together, Ja Rule and Ashanti style. Hey, y’all: NO ONE LIKES YOU TWO. WE WILL NEVER, EVER BUY THE MUSIC.

One positive note: It’s warming to see Peter talk to his son, Cory Gunz, and reflect on mistakes they’ve both made when it comes to their gun cases.
